Comic Books Are Burning In Hell

WHAT'S THE BIG COMIC OF THE WEEK? Gilbert Hernandez's Marble Season. WE GOT IT HERE. PLUS, the world-famous DECADENCE COMICS from the British Isles and BEYOND. A PODCAST SO HOT IT BURNED DOWN ITS VERY MEDIUM OF EXPRESSION. That means the recording just breaks at the end! WE DROPPED THE MIC.

On this episode, Chris Mautner, Matt Seneca, Joe McCulloch and Tucker Stone talk about Hair Shirt by Patrick McEwon and Blutch's So Long Silver Screen. There's something else too, but I can't remember what it was right now.

Joe and Chris didn't go to this year's MoCCA Fest in New York, but Matt Seneca did! Not only that he was an exhibitor, selling his own darn comics at the show! So the Pennsylvania pair decide to use this opportunity to grill Matt like a swordfish and find out what it's like being on the other side of the table for once. Sadly, we had to cut this one a tad short, as we were having really awful technical difficulties. Truly it was redonkulous.

On this episode, Matt, Joe and Chris discuss the term "funnybooks"--is it time to put it to bed? Preferably, the kind of bed where you shoot things with a gun?

What is Homestuck? And what was it doing in the bucolic landscape of Lancaster County? Chris Mautner can only rely on the sage and deep wisdom of Joe Mculloch  -- as so many of us do — mainly because Tucker Stone and Matt Seneca were off gallivanting about God's green Earth engaging in super-secret activities far too important to even hint at here. But the Homestuck discussion turns out to be merely the appetizer for a heady in-depth examination of the Cities Obscures series by Francois Schuiten and Benoit Peeters. Are you up to listening to two grown men talk about semi-obscure (at least in the U.S.) Belgian comics? Frankly, we don't think you are.

In this episode, Chris Mautner, Matt Seneca, Joe McCulloch and Tucker Stone get all twisted and torn up. First they talk about Manga Sagawa-San, then they talk about Shonen Jump. Then they talk about Humanoids new one, Eros Gone Wild. (This is a weird episode.) Then they talk about Lone Wolf and Cub for a minute or two. Then Chris pitches the Picturebox manga line to everybody. Then the episode goes off the rails completely. Please accept our strongest apologies!
